Did I mention that I crochet a lot of hats?

BB8 Beanie

BB8 Beanie

In a previous post (http://wp.me/p3cpDI-17) I had mentioned the BB8 beanies I made for my nephews and here is another one! Still have to make a slightly larger one for the BIL.

I crocheted this from a free pattern I found on Ravelry – http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bb-8-bb8-droid-beanie

I believe I’ll be making these for awhile – may even puzzle out a graph for a tapestry version. Maybe, if I get the time!

Mario Bros Mushroom Beanie

I made these little beauties for a friend who lives in Canada, as presents for some young ones. He says the kids loved them! Nothing makes me happier than creating something unusual and having the recipient appreciate it!

Another wonderful find on Ravelry – http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mario-bros-mushroom-beanie

Even quicker than making a beanie is making a newborn one! And they turn out so adorable! Shown here with newborn high tops, how cute are they?

I crocheted these as a gift to a work colleague for his newborn son.

Both of these I also found on Ravelry –

Heads up!

How quick and easy are hats to make?

I usually whip up some character beanies for my young nephews for Christmas. This year they received some BB8 beanies. Now my brother in law is requesting one for himself!

I have a couple of favourites that I love to crochet, how about you?

Brain Waves beanie

Brain Waves Beanie

Pictured here is a Brain Waves beanie made from the free pattern by Playin’ hooky designs (http://playinhookydesigns.blogspot.com.au/p/free-pattern.html). I just love these beanies, the pattern is well written and even has tutorials.

My picture doesn’t do it justice – check them out on google!

And how about those Minion beanies? I’ve made a few of those over the last couple of years!  And I’m still getting requests for them! One eye, two eyes, requests for Bob, Stuart, Kevin (but mostly Bob!).

There are many free patterns available for Minion beanies, check them out on Ravelry – https://www.ravelry.com/account/login.

Swirl Beanie / Iron Man Fingerless Gloves

I also love the Swirl Beanie by The Crochet Zombie, another free pattern. Available in a PDF download, and also a video tutorial – http://www.thecrochetzombie.com/2014/10/10/swirl-beanie/.

Shown here is my version in Iron Man colours, with Iron Man mitts (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crocheted-iron-man-fingerless-gloves).

Thanks to Louis Mensinger and his free pattern!

Which designs do you keep going back to?

Kazzameblanky

Standard

giant granny ghanI have made many of these Granny blankets over the years.

In fact, for a long long time the Granny was the only Crochet technique I knew how to do.

I crocheted a Granny blanket for my daughter when she was a baby, and she still has it today, some 23 years later. Still loves it and uses it every winter. 🙂

If I had known it would last so long I think I would have picked better colours!

The blanket pictured is one I gave to a friend a few years ago – she called it the Kazzameblanky (sort of rhymes with Casablanca) and the nickname has stuck.

No more Granny blankets, all are now known as Kazzameblankies!
